Season Opener

Hey, hey, hey everyone! How's it going? Hopefully good because we have a lot to discuss in this blog! The Lakers had their season opener on Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors! Hopefully you watched a little of the game or maybe watched some highlights, but we didn't do so good. We lost the game 121 to 114, but why?

Earlier in the month we had mentioned all the key players we signed and the bright rookies we signed, so why did we lose? Well, one of the standout rookies, THT, is out for a couple weeks due to a torn ligament on his thumb. There's a lot of talk about him playing a key role on this team, but we'll have to wait a little longer to see if it's true.

The two star returners, Anthony Davis and Lebron James both did their job and looked very good out there. Lebron had 34 points along with 11 rebounds and AD had 33 points along with 11 rebounds as well. So, if two stars both had 30 plus points, how did the Warriors still manage to win? The Warriors secret weapon; Stephen Curry had his first triple double since 2016! The crazy thing is, after the game, Curry laughed and still thought he played bad. Another key reason the Warriors won was because their bench had 57 points compared to the Lakers 29 points.

Lastly, the man everyone was talking about this off-season, Russell Westbrook did not play to his best ability. Westbrook had only 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in his Lakers debut. He was the missing piece on Tuesday night. Although, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was first game jitters.

The Lakers have their second game of the season tonight, so let's cross our fingers and hope they get it together!
